My writing, my art, is a manifestation of my life and how I see the world. My hope is that everyone connects, relates, and can see the world through my perspective.
My inspirations are Issa Rae, Octavia Butler, and Zakiya Dalila Harris. These women, to me, are trailblazers for black fiction and I admire the work they do. I aspire to make my work as black and as weird as theirs are. We all have a message to send to the world whether it's through science fiction or a television series, and we deserve a chance to let our voices be heard!
I'm attending SCAD to get my B.F.A in Writing with a minor in Art History in hopes of someday editing or writing for a small publisher, continuing to help starving artists and creatives articulate themselves!
I look forward to getting my M.F.A in African American studies to further articulate the views and standards society holds about an entire diaspora of people.
